Hi
I have been patiently putting together 280 photos of my 3 year old daughter on my Ulead DVD Picture Show software (2000).
I have added music and descriptions. There is also 2 AVI / movies files that make up the DVD.
It is time to burn to DVD.
I have selected DVD and 'max' time to burn.
The DVD seems to have burnt my pics ok...however...on our new Samsung DVD -709 player the DVD will not play...it will play the DVD when in our playstation!
Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong? The DVD disc is a DVD neg R and my DVD player is compatiable to all these.
Is there something I have overlooked.
I need to give this to family and can not as they will not be able to play it!
HELP PLEASE!!!!

Hi Lynda,
DVD players (even newer models) can sometimes be finnicky playing burned DVD media. I'd suggest you try viewing the DVD on a different player. If it plays properly there's a good chance that (for any number of reasons) an incompatibility issue of some sort exists between this particular DVD-R and your new player. It's quite possible that the DVD will play on the gift recipients player however there's really no way to know this in advance. A few possible solutions are:
1) Try reburning using a different brand of -R media.
2) Try reburning using +R media (if your drive supports it).
3) Upgrade to the latest version of PictureShow. Chances are, DVD's burned with Version 4 will have better overall player compatibility versus the 6 year old software you're currently using. Note that you may need to redo the entire presentaion from scratch as I don't know if your existing project file will be compatible.
You might also considder giving the recipient several DVD's (both +R and -R versions). The odds are fairly good that one of them will play correctly on their equipment.
