Since I use a JVC-GZ-MG33E videorecorder I could'n use UVS because JVC uses a different file type.
I used UVS 6SE DVD for other videofiles, and I was very impressed by this programm (much better than Pin.10 and PowerDirectory).
So I ame very pleased that UVS10 can read my MOD-files from my JVC; I downloaded the 30-day trial version to see wether it works.
However, when I try to burn a DVD, I get the (famous?) error 257:0:0 "convert step got some problems".
The clips I want to burn have the following properties:
file format : PAL DVD
file size : 85.356
Duration : 76.320 sec
Video
Videotype : MPEG2 Video, Upper Field First
Total Frames : 1.908 frame(s)
Attributes : 24 bits, 720 x 576, 4:3
Frame Rate : 25.000 frames/sec
Data rate : 8500 kbps
Audio
Audiotype : Dolby Digital Audio
Total samples : 3.663.360 samples
Attributes : 48000 Hz
Layer : None
Bitrate : 384 kbs
(I tried it with a very smal sample as you can see)
Before I buy this version of UVS, I must solve this problem, otherwise I can't use this beautiful program.
Is there anybody who knows the solution for this problem?
Thanks in advance

That message usually indicates that rendering is taking during the burning phase, which shouldn't happen. That in turn indicates that there is something not wholly DVD-compliant about your input files.
I am assuming here that you have converted your MOD files to mpeg-2 files with the properties given in your post. They look mostly fine, though I would make two comments.
First, I would try to keep the bitrate to 8000 kbps or lower. And I would try using an audio bitrate of 256 kbps if you are using Dolby 2 channel stereo.

I am going to try the tips Kan Berry gived me, thanks. I let you know whether it worked or not.
In the mean time I have downloaded a 30-day trial version of Cyberlinks Power2GO with the same file. That works fine.
But it is a very laborious way; I think I am rendering twice.
One time in Ulead, to make the mpeg2 file and one time when burning the disk with Power2Go.
So a real sulution is this not.
I keep you informed.
