Copying Chapter Menu Attributes within VS10+

Post by blplhp »

Regarding VS10+, when working in Share|Create Disc, I have one video file in my current project. I have completely edited all possible attributes for the chapter menu of this video file. Now I want to add another video file to the Create Disc project file and I want to use the exact same chapter menu template as the current chapter menu, including all of the same attribute settings (ie, background music, background image, layout, frame type, navigation buttons, menu-in, menu-out, chapter scene titles below the thumbnails, fonts, etc.). How do I “copy” the complete set of attributes from the current chapter menu to a new chapter menu?

As a side note, I read in a related thread that a customized chapter menu can be “saved” to Gallery|My Favorites. How do you do this? I didn’t see any save buttons to click on. Also, when “saving” a customized chapter menu for future use in My Favorites, how much of the chapter menu is saved - everything that I described above or just certain features?

The reason I am asking is that for the video file that I have currently loaded in my Share|Create Disc project file, I want to go back to the .vsp project file in the editing mode, and re-edit a few things, then Re-Create the Video File, and then add it the Create Disc project file that I already have set-up and transfer all of the chapter menu attributes from the current chapter menu to the new chapter menu of enhanced video file, then delete the original video file from the Create DVD timeline. I don’t want to have manually edit the new chapter menu all over again.

Thanks for your help,

Bryan P.

Nevermind my second paragraph in my questions above...
"As a side note, I read in a related thread that a customized chapter menu can be “saved” to Gallery|My Favorites. How do you do this? I didn’t see any save buttons to click on. Also, when “saving” a customized chapter menu for future use in My Favorites, how much of the chapter menu is saved - everything that I described above or just certain features?"
I just figured out that when in the "Customize Menu" dialog box, you can customize features like frame type, nav buttons, layout, move objects around, set font styles and settings, menu-in/menu-out, motion filters, pan & zoom, add background music and video. This does about 85% of what I want to accomplish. But the Customize Menu does not give you the ability to hide objects, edit the Title texts and Chapter Thumbnail texts (as far as typing in a different description). I guess that's why it's called a "template", huh?
Oh, and I found the way to save the customized menu, by clicking on the "Add to Menu Template" buttom below the menu preview screen.

So back to my original question, is there a way to "copy" a chapter menu that not only does what "saving" a customized menu does, but also copying the text edits and the hiding of objects, for an exact replication?

Thanks,
