I find my folders littered with maybe a hundred cryptically-labeled junk image and audio clips, each using up to several MB--and creating real visual confusion.
I'd be happy if there were a way to merely list the ancillary files I used in a project. Even nicer would be to have a utility to delete (to the wastebasket) all .wav, .mp3, .jpg, etc. files that are NOT in a given .VSP or group of VSPs. Is there any utility around to do that? Or perhaps there's a VS function to do that just missed?

Hi
There is no way that Video Studio can automatically delete files that are not linked to a project.
All the hundreds of files you see have been made or captured by you.
Its really a matter of good house keeping.
By creating a different Working Folder for each project, you could save your video clips, audio, images to one location.
Once you have completed the video you can then easily identify the unwanted files and delete.
You can delete the clips from the library and associated files on your hard drive.
By selecting a clip in the library, press ‘Shift + Delete’ and you will be prompted to delete the file on the hard drive.
