VideoStudio 8 Purchase

Post by jmoon »

I am considering the purchase of this software. Are there any external devices I should consider buying? Either required or to make life easier while using the software.
Thanks,
John

It really depends on what you already have and what you want to do : if you have a digital camera which you can connect to your PC via the firewire and a DVD burner then you don't need anything else.

If you want to capture video from an analog source then you need a specific capture card. The same applies if you want to put on a DVD something that you captured from a TV programme, etc.

Maybe you should specify a little bit the aim of your question.

I have the CD burner and a very good digital camera. I would like to use some of my high 8 video also. Is there something special I would need for that?
Thanks

jmoon, you mentioned you would like to use your high 8 video...assuming it is analog...you will need a capture card for the analog video. Also, if you are going to make a DVD, you will need a DVD burner.
