One of the things that hacks me off about PI11 is it appears to strip EXIF and IPTC info . . . or so I thought. What I'm looking for is a couple of people to check with their systems if the IPTC info in particular and EXIF stays intact if the files are saved using Win2000.
I have two OS and it appears that the EXIF and IPTC info is not stripped when using PI11 under Windows2000. I was wonder if a couple of folks could add IPTC info to a couple of files and then open the files in PI. Make one change to the file and then save it. Open the IPTC editor again and check to see if the info is still there.
I believe the data stripping of EXIF and IPTC info happens only when working on an XP platform. I just wanted to get a few people to confirm this find to confirm and document this as a XP specific related bug.
Thanks in advance to any one who participates in this experiment.

I have XP SP2 and ME and as long as I Save my images in the native format, i.e. jpg or whatever, the EXIF info remains. If I Save As in UFO format, with the exception of the height and width, the info takes a hike.
In the PI Help file it states, “PhotoImpact supports EXIF image data contained in most WIA-based images.” Sounds like another Microsoft buzzword.
Do not work with IPTC or Win2000.

I can confirm the the removal of EXIF and IPTC info in PI11 when saving files with embedded information occurs only when using the software on a XP platform. If using Win2000 the data written to the file header remains after the file has been manipulated and saved.
I and a fellow user confirmed this using Win2000 and PI on two different systems.
Ulead programmers out there: Can you make a patch for this??? Pls.
