I've been trying out DVD MF5 TBYT and received the following error when opening the capture video component:
Failed to connect to driver: Microsoft DV camera and VCR
[13011:3:3]
I'd been running my monitor at 1152 by 864.
When I changed the monitor resolution to 1024 by 768, MF5 found the camera and captured video just fine.
I see no reason that a program should be that sensitive to the monitor's resolution, by MF5 is.
Has anyone else found this?
one solution for 13011 Failed to connect to driver error
Assuming, as you said, you only changed the resolution (and not the color depth) then one reason could be DirectX/DirectDraw video overlay issues related to the graphics driver. Especially if you have a brand new graphics card, or a really old one.I see no reason that a program should be that sensitive to the monitor's resolution
If other video software with preview works in the 1152x864 resolution, it could be a MF5 bug.
(I just mentioned this because of video overlay problems years ago that were related to the Nvidia drivers for that board, and it only worked in certain resolutions or after tweaking undocumented driver registry settings)
