Photo Express Installation

Post by mike »

Hello,

Has anyone had any installation problems with Photo Express 4.0 SE?

I've installed the program on a new PC (Windows 2000) and it installs fine but when I try to start the program by double-clicking onto the icon (or trying to initiate it through the application file) nothing happens. I've tried re-installing the software and the same thing happens ..... the software just doesn't start. Anyone had anything similar?

Thanks a ton in advance.

I have been messing with this for a week but i finally figured it out......what you have to do is find the program on the computer

C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead Photo Express 4.0\ipe40.exe

(sorry i cant give exact descriptions...i am using winxp, and i am not sure how much you know about computers)....anyhow....

1. right click on the program. (ipe40.exe)
2. click on properties
3. look for a tab that says "Compatibility"
4. where it says compadibilty mode, check the box and select "Windows 98/Windows Me"
5. Click accept
6. Run the program

ps. you may have to shut the program down first using "alt+control+del" before it will let you do it

:D hope it works

I cannot get it to work with Windows XP, either. What do I need to do?
Thanks.

After using the compatibility wizard with Windows XP, it worked after I chose Windows 95. ( I say "worked" because the program at least came on-I haven't used it yet.
Thanks for the information about compatibility.
I still get a "time out" when I try to register the serial number. Before, I reached a page saying that the serial number was already registered.

I'm having a problem opening it too. But I get a popup window called "Windows installer" and the message "Preparing to install.." but nothing happens. When I click on cancel again nothing happens and I have to go into Taskmanager and shut down IPE40.exe.
I'm going to try that earlier suggestion.

I've tried the earlier suggestions but it still won't open. I've browsed back on this forum and it seems to be a recurring problem.
So I've uninstalled 4SE and reinstalled 3 which gives me no problems.
