Capturing video Mini DV from camera crashes

Post by adalita_m »

Everytime I try to capture video from my DV it causes a memory error.

any ideas on rectifying this?

I could use another program to get the data but would prefer to get it to work in VideoStudio 10

Can we assume that you are capturing using Firewire (as you should be)? If so, are you using Type 1 Encoder for DV (recommended), or Type 2 (only recommended if you have a fairly powerful computer)? You can check in the Options icon on the Capture page.

Or are you using USB? Except for a handful of very expensive cameras, the USB connection is only used for transmitting still photos or low quality streaming video.

Thanks for the extra detail. But you still haven't told us the Encoder type you are using, and that could be a crucial factor.

Do you mean VideoStudio? Photostudio is an entirely different product.

If its VideoStudio try browsing this link:
