I have a DVD from the USA consisting of about 5 video files which won't play in Windows Media Player 10 - I can get sound but not video. I can play the video if I want using my nVidia software however I just want the individual video files to send onto someone on disc. But I want them to be able to be played with Windows Media Player - currently this is not possible. Can I convert VOB files to a more compatible file format using Ulead Video Studio 6?
Thanks
Converting VOB files
This is because MPEG-2 is not a standard WMP codec, but WMP works if a suitable codec in installed in your system.
This is not relevant to this board, as WS2 is not apt for what you wish to do. I doubt whether your VS 6 will do it, either, as it is pretty prehistoric.
Your best bet would be to download a VOB>AVI converter (e.g., http://movavi.com/convertmovie/vob-to-avi.html) and convert to an avi with a standard WMP codec, such as Indeo5. Do NOT try DivX, XViD, MPEG-4 codecs. Note this will not work for copy-protected DVDs.

Thanks
Thanks guys. Have sorted it now via a friend who emailed me (I think). I downloaded a freeish version of RER Video converter and it allows me to convert the VOB files to various formats. I chose WMV in the end which works fine. The only thing I couldn't convert the VOB files to was MPEG-4.
