I've just rebuilt my pc - going way up in cpu and grafix, about the same in MoBo and keeping the same 2Gb DDR and HD as before.
Out of curiosity I decided to re-do a previously created video to see if I got better results, but sometime after 46% (I went to bed) a small dialogue "Out of Memory" came up and it stopped.
What exactly does the message mean and what do I do to correct the problem?

You don't say whether you are merely producing a DVD-compatible mpeg-2 file (Share > Crate Video File) or actually burning a disc (Share > Create Disc). But either way, it sounds as though it is related to the space on the hard drive where you have your Ulead working folders.
By default, the main working folder used in the editing module is set to be in C:\My Documents\Ulead VideoStudio\ 10.0 (or 9.0 or 8.0 etc). But you may have changed that to some other drive in File > Preferences > Working Folder. If you are merely producing a video file, then this is the one you have to worry about.
The problem is that Ulead have sneakily included *another* working folder which is linked to the burning module. You can find it in the middle of the three little icons in the bottom left of the burning screen. By default, it is in the same spot as your main working folder unless you have changed it. But if it has stayed on your C:\ drive and this is getting full, then you will get an out of space message during the burning process.
