Hi Ravelco, and welcome to the forums,
I don't have any knowledge of VS4, as I didn't start using VideoStudio until version 5. However what you are asking, should be relatively easy.
Place both video clips in the timeline. Then render ( I don't know if VS4 uses a Share>Create step or what), but render a new video file. This will join both video clips into new one. Understand that this does not alter you original clips, it just creates a new video file. When you create (render) your new video file, you can use the same properties as the video clips, and this should make rendering go fairly quick.

I have no idea about VS4 as I only started with VS7. But in later versions, you have to use the Share function. Put your two video clips in the timeline in the order you want, then find Share > Create Video File, and choose the format you want the single file to be in.
Perhaps there may be a member who has more hands-on experience with VS4, and who might be able to offer more specific advice. But I imagine this basic function has not changed much since the early days of the program.

Yep there was..
I tried to get the manual for it from Ulead's site, however in the PDF that is provided (containing the updates etc..) the link to the manual is broken. It goes to an update patch for VS4.
In fact I found on the net an image for VideoStudio 3

Believe it or not, I am looking at the install disk for version 4.
I was first introduced to VS when I bought h/w for analog-digital called "Dazzle DV-Editor".
I can't remember the process and steps you need to take. Will you gove me some time?
I will go to another PC and load it. I will let you know.

I loaded VS 4.0 (SE)

Here are the steps to take:
1. In the "Storyboard" mode, click on the "Load Video" icon (looks like a CD) to the right of the Video (library) pull down (right side of screen)
2. Browse to the two files you want to use. This will put them into the library.
3. Drag them into the video track of the storyboard. One by one - in the order you want them.
4. (do any other editing: titles, fades, etc)
5. Click on "Finish" (top line, right side)
6. Select the "Output Option" you want - from the pull down (left side) Either: MS DV Record, TI DV Record, Web Page, E-mail, or Greeting Card) - Probably "MS DV Record"
7. Click on the "Make Movie" icon (just above step 6 pull-down) - looks like a movie reel. Select location and file name. You may alos select the file type and codec here. I suggest *.avi. Some would suggest *.mpg.(Don't anyone say anything!
)
8. Click "Save."
The rendering will begin, and you will have a new file.
I hope this helps. I must say: this was an interesting exercise because it brought back a lot of memories.
One note: the process is not much different today. Just some of the names have been changed.
kindly,
Russ

I know it has always confused me (of course it doesn't take much). So I remember it by the phrase when downing a drink " Bottoms Up".Ken Berry wrote:I think the 'confusion' was that 'B' meant 'Upper' and 'A' meant 'Lower', when logic (?) might have dictated the opposite.
