Via importing DVD from my Sony 602E, I can get the video in but when play back, there is no sound. Is that a problem due to the Codec - AC3?
Is there a way to fix it?
Thanks

Yes. VS8 required a special AC-3 plug-in, but it cost nearly as much as upgrading to VS9 (or now 10), which had native support for AC-3. Moreover, none of the SE versions supports AC-3.
You could try downloading this free AC-3 filter from http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=AC3_Filter That should allow you to import AC-3 audio. But you cannot export it in that format. In other words, after using the filter, you have to convert the AC-3 to one of the other DVD audio formats (LPCM or mpeg layer 2).
