"Convert Step Got Some Problems [257:0:0]" (DMF 5)

Ive made the project before and now I remade it, exactly as i did last time. only this time I got an error message: "Convert Step Got Some Problems [257:0:0]" what is that suppose to mean? if I knew what the "some problems" are, then i could have solved this myself... help, please?

:? You haven't given us much to work with either....

What file format?* Where did they come from? The Read This First ... post at the top of the forum tells you what we need to know in order to help you.


* AVI/DV almost never causes trouble. MPEG sometimes causes problems. DivX and Xvid are always trouble!!!!

Hi - i've got the same situation.
Same error - i'm making standard dvd (as usuall i did) (6000 vbr, dolby digital 256) and after making dvd i ve got this error [257:0:0] i don't know what does it mean.
It's strange because it was working recently and suddenly this error - i cannot remember what i did(install something) in pc but i think everything is ok...

Ohh - i've got dmf 5.0 and 4.0 and in both are the same situation... veeery strange!!!

I would second DVDDoug's suggestion, please fill the system information in your user profile, tell us what source file do you use and describe your problem as Read This First so people can help you.

I got the same problem using VideoStudio 10. I have an AVI file, 13GB size, and I get this error after I press the "Burn" - All I try to do is to create a simple DVD... ANyone can help me?

Nature of the problem : "convert step got some problems" 257:0:0

Properties of your source files :AVI, ~ 13 GB, 24 bit, 720*480

What devices are involved and their mode of connection - file on my machine - was captured in the same tool.

Output format : DVD, NTSC

Error Codes 257:0:0
