How do you do this in VS 10+? using a blank clip?

How do you make a blank clip in VS10? I want to put text on the blank clip introducing the nex movie.

Usally i just put the text on the movie itself but i wanted to do something differant.

From the library add a colour clip.
then lay your text over the colour clip.
The duration of the colour clip can be adjusted.

That's right.
You can also use a picture in place of the colo(u)r clip.
