fades to and from black

I'm loving ulead studio8 but i'm not sure how to put a title at the begining of my project. I just want to place text or a logo over black and dissolve into my first scene. i'd also like to fade out to some text. how do i do it?

Go to the drop-down list on the top-right and select 'Color'. Drag one of those into the timeline and set it's duration. Then select 'Title' from the list, double-click the preview screen, and enter your text. Lots of different settings and styles there. Then insert a Transition before your first clip.
