problems with audio... HELP!!!!!

sorry if this is stupid,

i am used to using pinnacle studio to edit my video, and i am used to using a digi cam as well, so trying to do so on videostudio 7 with an analog cam is proving to be difficult to say the least.

so, here i am, 1:00 in the morning, struggling with my video. i am using ads tech usb instant video to hook up my comp and cam, and it works with the video studio except for one major problem... no audio! i have tried everything with the camera and the rca cables, but nothing seems to work. i am praying that there is some simple toggle hidden deep within the options of videostudio 7 for me to do that will fix this, but i obviously have no idea.

also, what do you guys think about pinnacle studio v. videostudio?
