Can veproj files be imported into a different project?

Post by tgill »

I am sure I saw this in the forum somewhere before and I am kicking myself for not printing it out.

I have a project that I will need the veproj file of another project I am working on. Can I import it directly into my ne project? If not is there a work around?

In MSP8, you can insert the *.DVP (MSP8 Project file).

on a timeline, rt-click/Project File -- then select your *.DVP project file.

How it gets added to your timeline depends on a setting in your PREFERENCES - under the EDIT tab.

As a Virtual Clip means it will be added as one video and audio track (i.e. everything in the other project will be combined into one track). If you select "Part of current project", then everything in the old project will be added to your new project (i.e. can be multiple video/audio tracks).

I am awre of that process you mentioned. I need to know if I can import only the veproj file that accompanies the *.DVP.

Thanks for trying though

The short answer is no. The long answer is that you may not want, e.g., chapter cues etc. from one project in another.

The short question is why?
