I AM TRYING TO CONVERT VHS TAPES TO DVD. i HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE EASIST WAY IS TO CONVERT TO A ISO FILE AND USE DVD SHRINK AND THEN BURN ISO FILE TO DVD. I KNOW VIDEO STUDIO WILL MAKE A IMAGE FILE AND THEN I CAN USE DVD SHRINK TO COMPACT THE FILE.
There's no need to make an ISO file. Capture to an MPEG-2 file, and Video Studio can re-structure it for the DVD. If the program won't fit on a DVD, choose a template with a lower bitrate. (It's actually best to capture to the "correct" bitrate in the first place to avoid re-encoding the MPEG.)
An ISO file is normally used when you are making multiple copies, or when you need to send a master file to a DVD duplication company.
Does my version of VideoStudio 8.0 SE DVD have all the functions of VS8?
I don't know what the differences are, but normally the SE version is limited. I think the only reason that make SE versions is to sell you an upgrade to the full version.
I DO NOT HAVE A MANUAL AS THIS PROGRAM...
You can
download the VS8 manual. It's for the full version, so some things may be missing in your SE version. But, 95% of it should be the same.
I cannot remember how to create an .iso file in VS8.
I seem to remember VS8 it can't do that! But, I could be wrong. Do you have Ulead Movie Factory? Movie Factory can do it.
And I am not sure if you create an .iso file from a dvd format i.e. video ts file.
As far as I know, none of the Ulead programs can do that. But there might be 3rd-party programs that can.
...but it tells me the sound is not correct for this program and please convert. Not sure how to do this either.
Normally, I'd say the audio is probably Dolby (AC3). (VS8 requires an extra-cost plug-in for Dolby.) But, if you created the file with VS8, that's not the issue.. weird... Unless the Plextor device can has a Dolby encoder, which it might.
