I was wondering if anyone is curently using or has used a digital tablet for photo editing with PI. I'm think about getting an Intuos3 tablet but wanted to get some feedback good or bad first.
Check to make sure it works in Windows applications in general as well as the application they typically come bundled with and you shouldn't have a problem. I don't have that brand but using a graphics tablet with a pen in much more intuitive and quicker than using a mouse or trackball in a graphics application.
I find them a pleasure to use for editing pictures.
As long as you can use it as a "mouse substitute" in windows as well, you shouldn't have problems with it in PI.
I use a Wacom Graphire and it works like a charm! There are several members on my board that use the Intuous without problems as well. I haven't heard of any pen that doesn't work with PhotoImpact yet.
phd & marylou,
thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I just took a test drive of the Wacom Intuos3 at CompUSA over the weekend. It was the 6 x 8 tablet. I looked at the 4 x 6 but it was definately to small to get use of the mouse. I aboslutely loved it! It works with PI like a charm but to get the most out of it, Adobe Elements or Photoshop is the way to go. It comes bundled with elements 2.0.
When they first came out with the Wacom, 4x6, a whole lot of us PhotoImpact users bought it. It was the first low-cost one on the market. We found it did an awesome job. The mouse that came with it was junk but the tablet was awesome. I still use mine today. My sister doesn't even own a mouse, she uses the pen for everything.
