I just installed PhotoImpact 8.5 (version I seem to have), my computer is way over the required stats and such, and it should be running fine, but I'm getting this error:

"PhotoImpact has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

The details of it are...

AppName: iedit.exe AppVer: 8.5.1.0 ModName: ulibpng.dll
Mod Ver. 8.5.0.0 Offset: 0000365f

That's bad, isn't it? Could you possibly be bothered to tell us something about your system this is happenig on?

Sounds to me like system issue. You could try a re-install but first remove PI from your system. Have a look here http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=8963 and scan the forum there. You most likely will find the answers to your questions there.

After doing that, it fixed the error.
