Is GIF Animator compatible with WinXP Pro? and other Qs...

Post by Kiai1 »

Hey,
I'm really sorry if this has been answered before, but I'm a tad confused :? I checked out the system requirements before d/loading the trial version of UGA5 and it said compatible with WinXP. After d/loading, I read some of the 'Readme' thingy and it didn't mention WinXP, just ME, 2000 and maybe something else, I don't recall.
I haven't had a problem d/loading as such but after doing all I had to do to create the thumping heart from the online tutorial it said "Click Save at the bottom right of the preview screen to save it as a GIF animation file." I cannot do this, I'm only allowed to save it as a GIF image :?.
I also can't click on optimize it's greyed out (that's after I've clicked on the optimize tab near top of screen.
I'm running WinXP, SP2.
Just a quicky also  is it possible to use any old Photo suite or does it have to be Photoimpact :?:

Many many thanks, and please don't shout at me

Regards, Kiai xx

XP Home, XP Pro, it's compatible.

GIF Animation file, GIF image - same thing. Don't let the wording confuse you. As long as it ends with .gif you're fine.

If the Optimize Now button is greyed out, that is because you have the "Auto-optimize when settings change" icon pressed. Image. It's already optimized. It's the third from the right on the Attribute panel.

Lastly, any imaging program that can save in either .psd format (Photoshop's format) or .ufo (Ulead's format) will do. That includes Paint Shop Pro, PhotoImpact, Photoshop, and likely a few more...

Happy animating!
