Spinning Logos - Cool 3D (3.0)

I just finished Steve's "Basic Tutorial" for Cool 3D (thanks Steve, nice job) and now I’m checking out Steve’s “Spinning Logos” tutorial at http://www.ulead.com/learning/cool3d8/page1.htm (Step One) but after I right click and save the COOL ZOO image as a bmp file I don’t get the “Convert to Vector” screen - but instead I get a small popup window saying “The current data is not supported by Ulead COOL 3D. Please change to 24-bit and try again” so my question is how do I change to 24-bit?

Not knowing what other software you may have, we can likely assume you have good old Windows Paint. Open the BMP with that, then promptly click "File, Save As..." and then select the type as 24 bit Bitmap.
