MPEG 2 files from JVC Everio in MSP
I have had issues with video quality from a rendered DVD when using VS10+, shadows following movement, thus appearing blurry. I am using the .MOD file that is created by the JVC Everio camera, which I believe is a MPEG2 Video File. Will Media Studio Pro provide a better rendered video?

Did you say camera or camcorder?
If its a camera then you mean MOV format. I wouldn't build any hopes up if its capture from a digital camera - the ability of these things to do videos is on a par with videos taken by a mobile telephone.
Put simply there are various gimmicky selling points whereby
A camcorder takes still pictures - but not as good as a digital camera
A digital camera takes videos - but not up to camcorder standard
A mobile phone takes videos and still pictures - but after all said and done - its a phone.

I think I remember reading somewhere that JVC had their own recording format, and their own special way of getting said format to your computer. So one would hope JVC also supplies their own converter program to convert said format to something standard, like MPEG2.
I think this was only true for JVC hard drive recorders, cause I remember thinking how dumb it is you can't just copy the file over to your hard drive and start editing.

I believe the Everio records as MPEG-2-PS. I don't know what PS means, but if JVC have modified a standard MPEG format, then they need to be hanged, drawn and quartered. This is like Sony who will modify any standard to make their products as little compatible as possible.
However, your "shadows" are most likely because of your having selected the wrong field order in the software. Nevertheless, please do remember that this is MPEG-2, recording at 4 Gb/h, and not DV, at 13 Gb/h, so your quality, especially after editing, will not be as good.

The PS no doubt stands for "Program Stream" as opposed to TS "Transport Stream"
Program Stream
Transport Stream
