Why don't you open the last back up file? At least you should have something to recover from without redoing the lotroa3 wrote:yeah...
i've similar problem...
So now i'll have a lot of back up files!!!
This problem has been known to happen with the system doing regular automatic save actions or if some background task is taking too much in resources at a crucial time.
I would check my preferences and disable the auto save function (don't forget to save manually every now and then), make sure I have plenty of free space on the drive or partition where I keep my Temp files and disable the option to let PI check for updates regularly.
Active internet connections, especially where certain programs constantly check for updates, instant messenger programs, file sharing and the like are other possible culprits.

Re: damaged ufo file :(
The file is corrupted and there are many reasons why this could happen. Just refer to the post above.gr33r wrote:I have PI10 ... and after I save my file, now I can't open it ... I get the following message : Unable to open file c:\xxx.ufo [800:93:4525]

Do you have a backup copy of your file? Some times it also helps to rename the file in WinExplorer and open it again with PI.
Other than that, I fear, you may have to start over

My suggest is:
If we want to open a large images, open in Paint program installed in our Windows XP one?? (click windows, roll over all programs, roll over accessories then Paint, Paint is my first design software hahaha...)
I mean, open in paint then crop the size, then open again in ulead photoimpact...will it be better?? I havent tried yet.
Anyway...save your files manually n often is very important, really!!

I'm not quite sure if I understand you right. Opening an image in the Win paint program is certainly not an option for me. I work with large images and want them to stay that wayroa3 wrote:![]()

PI does offer the possibility to open an image only partially though. Have not had to use it much because my system is amply spec'd. Did it once as an exercise in the beginners work shop offered by the PIRC group here http://www.pircnet.com/.
It may be a good idea for you also to take this work shop. It gave me a whole new outlook on things and will certainly give you a very good understanding of all the PI tools. The PIRCNET web site also has a lot of links to useful and interesting tutorials as well. Certainly worth a visit.
