Experience and Suggestions needed for Audio Processing

Post by dr.onestone »

Hallo,
browsing through the VideoStudio Support Forum I was not able to find answers to my questions as described below.

My starting position should be the same which will occurs to a lot of VideoStudio users: I have successfully completed my first video in which the audio is distributed over the 3 tracks video, voice and music (sometimes all together parallel on all tracks, sometimes alone on one track).

1.) The track video contains the sound recorded with my camcorder. As the level of sound varies from seqence to sequence I want to ask whether there is the possibility (my be a build-in wizard) to adjust the audio level of all sequences altogether to the same one with one click?

2.) The sound of the voice and music track is in perfect level whereas the sound level of the video track is too low. But as the volume rubber band in the video track is not a contiguous line (there are seqences with and without audio and thus a lot of single volume rubber bands) there is not one "single" volume rubber band which I could take to raise the complete audio level in one step. Is there still a possibilty to raise the complete audio level of the video track with a single keystroke?

3.) I have repeatedly read in the VideoStudio forum that the audio processing of VideoStudio V10 is still not state-of-the-art. For me as a newbie seems this also be true and I have read recommandations to export the audio processing to the open-source program Audacity. (In deed: Audacity is really a good audio processing program: easy to load from the internet and to install on your computer - and you can really do anything which you want to do by single keystrokes - I want to encourage everybody to play around with Audacity). Using Audacity I come to my next questions:
3a.) Is there the possibility to export from VideoStudio not only the complete audio mixed of all tracks but also the audio from the single video track?
3b.) Is there the possibility within VideoStudio to delete the complete audio of, for example the video track, which may consists of separate audio sequences, with a single keystroke?
3c.) Is there the possibilty to import the audio to a specific track, for example the video track?

4.) Or may be - as I am total newbie to video and audio processing - someone will answer me with better ideas to achieve my goals from my starting position mentioned above.

A lot of questions - but I am certain that a lot of new VideoStudio users are interested in these answers sharing the same unexeperiences as me. Thus I could also change the subject of my topic adapted to Woody Allen’s movie: Everything You Always Wanted To Know About VideoStudio's Aufio But Were Afraid To Ask!
Much regards to everybody

Hi

A lot of questions.

I have a Panasonic GS 400. I find the audio from the camera very good.
This is captured to the video track as part of the video.

If I import an audio CD I usually find it too loud. Or is my video too low????????

The one thing I have to watch is the volume controls on my pc. This sometimes gets adjusted to listen to my audio files.
The next time I run VS the sound can be different usually too high. So which do I change. Well the speaker controls, but it is all to easy to start modifying the volume within VS.

I use the original captured video as a standard, I use this as a base a platform for my audio level. very rarely altering the volume.
I change the volume of the other tracks to match the video track.

The completed DVD sound level being ok.

If I use the CD audio as a base I find the completed DVD to be to loud, and have to reduce the volume on the tv.

3a.) Is there the possibility to export from VideoStudio not only the complete audio mixed of all tracks but also the audio from the single video track?
Sorry afaik you can only export the project sound, which includes all audio clips. Share Create Sound File.

3b.) Is there the possibility within VideoStudio to delete the complete audio of, for example the video track, which may consists of separate audio sequences, with a single keystroke? NO you have to work on each clip separately

3c.) Is there the possibility to import the audio to a specific track, for example the video track?Yes File-Insert Media to Timeline or use the insert media folder icon. But you have to import to an audio track not the video track

Hope this Helps
Its just a learning curve
