I searched the forum for my problem and tried everything suggested for similar problems. I may have missed a post that will solve the problem from the six pages of search results for crash but I'm so frustrated and tired of downloading, installing, un-installing, deleting folders and clearing all the junk left behind in the registry. Emailed support with no reply or help.
When I start the program the splash screen shows but no matter which of the three options I select I get a "Ulead VideoStudio has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." message.
The error signature is...
AppName: vstudio.dat AppVer: 10.0.0.0 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00160dc0
Can anyone help?
I have a P-4 3.0 ghz HT with a gig of ram

Know what ya mean. I am trying to decide between Pinnacle or Ulead for my purchase. I have read some really bad reviews about Pinnacle and the way they treat their customers.
My system is not crashing since I installed Ulead. I did however accidently delete a menu file. I decided to uninstall and reinstall to get the file back..
Like you I even went into the registry and anywhere else I could think of.

I reinstalled the program only to find the file still missing, and the timer still counting down the days. Now I dont have a problem with the timer since I was planning on purchasing the program anyway.
The problem I DO have is that since I installed Ulead, some other applications have been acting odd.
Not sure if it is a conflict with Ulead or not.
I aked for a list of ALL the changes and files Ulead did or added to my computer to no avail. If it is leaving files on my computer, then I would consider that a form of spyware.!!!!
I hope we both will get an answer to our dilema. I would hate to put Ulead in the same class as Pinnacle with their lack of customer care.

I wasted more of my time installing MediaStudio Pro. Same problem!
Do you use programs to clean your registry and remove un-used files from your comp? When I run these programs after un-installing video studio/media studio I am shocked and upset to see so much junk cluttering my registry and system. The ulead programs must be really dragging down a lot of peoples systems.
The number of posts in this forum for help tells me that ulead puts out an untested product for the consumer to test and then the consumer must depend on the knowledge of other consumers to solve problems as ulead surely does not reply to support questions.
Did you try cyberlink powerdirector? I installed last night. No problems, easy to use, lots of features. I was up and running and completed a project in no time! I had a template question and mailed support. Got up this morning and had a reply to my question. Give it a try!
