I normally create my projects using Sony Vegas & author them with Sony DVD Architect. When its a small project or where the menu themes are appropriate I use DVD MovieFactory 4. For the past 2 years all of my projects have been 16x9. I created my MPEG2 files in Vegas as 16x9 then very quickly & easily in DVD MovieFactory & set the project to 16x9 & burned a R/W disk. The resulting disk plays OK except that I have a large black space at both the top & bottom of my 16x9 screen.
Wishing to make certain that the problem wasn't with the MPEG2 files I erased the disk & re burnt it as a data disk using just the MPEG2 files since my DVD player can play almost anything. This disk displayed correctly as 16x9.
Where did I go wrong with DVD MovieFactory? How do I eliminate the black bars top & bottom from displaying on screen?
DVD displays 16x9 incorrectly

Very confusing. You're saying you've had this problem for 2 years? For the past 2 years all of my projects have been 16x9
Or maybe you suddenly have it now (using a new TV? using a new player?)? Or just discovered it?
Is the 16x9 "screen" your monitor screen using a software player on the PC, or are you talking about your TV?
Anyway, get the free tool ifoedit from www.ifoedit.com and check the flags in the DVD ifo files. Make sure they are 16:9 before looking any further.
