As more and more digital recorders are coming onto the market with their own internal hard drives, I'm thinking of buying a Topfield recorder.
Their website says that it has a USB connection with the ability to transfer files to a computer.
My question to anyone in the know is can Uleads editing facilties handle .rec files which most recorders seem to use? Can you import these and convert them to mpegs?

.rec files
See http://phorums.com.au/archive/index.php/t-140668.html
It would seem you must use a 3rd party software for converting them to MPG.
Why TF do cam makers always try to have proprietary file formats when there are adequate standard formats available?
