Post by edward1 »

Dear People!
Can somebody help me? I used to work by Media Studio Pro 7. I could listen to audio in Preview Window, but I could not in Play Clip and in Trimming Window using Mpeg files. With AVI it worked perfectly.
I updated to Media Studio Pro 8 and now it still be problem.
The same Mpeg files working in Media Player.
What happened, what can I do? Please! Help!

Dear Mr. Devil!
I am using Panasonic DVD Video Camera. I get the MPeg files trough DVD Movie Album program. Several weeks ago I could use them with audio sounds Something happened and I can not.
In Preview Window I can listen to the sounds always. No sounds in Play Clip window and Source window. In the no audio. It was before!
In Media Player the same MPeg files have audio. In Media Player Pro AVI and WMV files work properly. In all windows.
I hope, you know solution for my problem.
Thank You!

I know nothing about your cam or the software you use to obtain the MPEG file. I presume you get a video and an audio track when you put the file on the timeline. If you right-click the unselected file, what audio data does it give? I presume you have your project settings identical to the file attributes? Do you have the yellow and green lines on the timeline? If not, you have some difference of attributes.

Is there any reason why you can't put the DVD disc in your drive and capture it using the Video Capture module? If you can, it would be easier to ensure maximum compatibility.

Dear Mr. Devil!
I wrote to you everything (in all windows) worked before. Something happened and now I only in main Timeline can get audio. Right click on video I see: Format: MPEG Audio Layer 2 files, Attributes: 48000 Hz, 16 bits, Stereo
If I put any MPEG (no Panasonic Cam) file to the Timeline the result is same. Audio only on the Main Timeline. No Audio on Play Clip and Source window. AVI, WMV work in Main TimeLine and the last two windows too. When I create at the finish one Video (DVD) file, i can not get sounds. Before I heard when it was ready (created).
No other way to get video from Cam. The program converts files. I work by 8cm DVD ROM. 2.8 GB. DVD player can not play it. And this files do not wrong. Other MPEG files (for example from Internet) do not work neither.
Maybe my Windows has some kind of Codec problem?
I could use before any MPEG files.
This way I can not work in Media Studio. I can not trim audio files, source window I can not hear sounds. (Before I uninstalled and installed the program 3 times and I updated to version 8. Nothing helped!
I am completely desperate! Can I ask you bye phone?
Good Bye dear Mr Devil!

Have you tried converting the audio files to PCM WAV files? It's not ideal if you're planning to output back to MP2 layer II, but it's worth a try...

Dear Mr. Devil!
My Drivers recognize the 8 cm DVD too, but only by .IFO extension. It is unusable to edit in Media Studio. I used to use separated files. In one disk 40-60 files.
Funny! In Source window I clicked play sign (any of three) I did not received audio but if I pulled the pointer by mouse I heard the real sounds. That is why I thought: my MPEG codec is broken.
I found in Internet and I installed K-Lite codec pack. After this became everything is O.K.
I can use my files with audio.
Only one (but is not a small) problem, when I like to use an audio filter in Media Studio Pro 8 I receive the following message: Video Editor can not recognize this filter and no filters in Filter Window. Video filters O.K. Media Studio Pro 7 audio-video filters work using the same MPEG files.
Thank you for your kindness, conscientious answers. I am greatly appreciated it.
Maybe the filter problem is much easier, than the audio trouble was. Please help this too.
With Regards!!!

Those codec packs are probably the cause of all your problems. They can cause untold harm. There is one codec in particular that causes problems with audio. I can't remember the name but I think it begins with ff

Dear Mr. Devil!
The K-line codec helped me. I installed it and now everything works in Media Studio 7. But in Media Studio 8 no audio filters. I’ll uninstall and install again version 8. Maybe it will help.
I have a program DECCHECK. It told me that 2 Ulead MPEG video decoders not compatible with synchronization of Media Player 10 and 11. It caused of all my problems.
Thank You for your letters to me. I am greatly appreciated.

I suggest you re-install MSP8.

Note there is no context-sensitive help in it; they forgot to remove the question mark.
