Keeps bringing me back to the menu...
Reading this, I think you may need to be more precise in defining titles and chapters.
A title is essentially a separate video file and a chapter is a selected keyframe position within a title.
When you say it goes back to the second chapter, I suspect you may mean the start of the second title. Otherwise something is very bizarre.
Normally, a playlist from a button ends with a menu to which it should return at the end. You can drag any menu onto the list.
Hope this helps.

Do you mean more precise than what I already defined earlier in this threadDevil wrote:Reading this, I think you may need to be more precise in defining titles and chapters.

The chapters should be there -- if you hit the NEXT button on your remote control, play should jump to the next defined chapter (within that Title). The tricky part is what happens on the "last" chapter, which is a different issue altogether regarding playback of defined Playlists.NorduNord wrote:Now that was quick !
Does this mean that the chapters will not function in each of the clips (titles) selected ?
Thank you GeorgeW.

Euh... can you be more specific ?
Really, thanks for the explaination.
I will try this with another test run (one more hour making my video TS and audio TS and burning test DVD !)
Devil,
There is no doubt in my mind; it is really chapter 2 (of my playlist)of the second title that plays back.

The playlist in on the left (center);
The chapter list in on the right;
the titles are on the right (bottom corner)

Check my post earlier in this thread, here is a link:
Add a Dummy Chapter
What I suspect you have is the following:
TITLE-1
TITLE-1 (Chapter-1)
TITLE-1 (Chapter-2)
TITLE-1 (Chapter-3)
TITLE-1 (Chapter-xx)
If you add all the Chapters to the PLAYLIST, then playback will do the following:
Jump to Chapter-1 (and play the entire TITLE from that point until end of TITLE)
Jump to Chapter-2 (and play the entire TITLE from that point until end of TITLE)
Jump to Chapter-3 (and so on...)
A chapter mark within a Title is a "Jump-to" indicator, and playback will go from that point until the end of the TITLE (i.e. all other chapters will be played).

George

Yes I have checked out your earlier post on adding a dummy chapter.
In fact my playlist was:
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Chapter 4
Chapter 5
Chapter 6
Chapter 7
Chapter 8
Chapter 9
Chapter 9 being my dummy chapter which was in fact 1 second before the end (in the black part of the video )
- Is one second before the end, sufficient as a dummy chapter ?
If I understand right, once the video would play, lets say three times, in my playlist, the fourth time, it would begin on chapter 4. Yes ?
Thank you

I've always wondered why these important explanations are not in the instruction help manual.A chapter mark within a Title is a "Jump-to" indicator, and playback will go from that point until the end of the TITLE (i.e. all other chapters will be played).

1-second before the end should be fine for a Dummy Chapter

Before actually wasting another hour,
my first playlist should look like this:
title 4:3
chapter 9
and my second playlist should be:
title 16:9
chapter 9
Right or wrong ?
If the titles INCLUDE the chapters, I would not have to do it this way and it should be done this way:
my first playlist:
title 4:3
and my second playlist:
title 16:9
Is this the right way of doing it ?
Assuming of course, that the last chapter (of the 9 ) is a dummy chapter in both cases (4:3 title and 16:9 title).

No need to add the Dummy Chapter (Chapter-9) to the Playlist. Remember, it is only there so if a user hits the NEXT button on the remote control (during playback of the last chapter in a Title), there would be no disruption in the playback of the "Playlist" In your case, sine you only have ONE title in each playlist, then hitting NEXT would not disrupt TITLE playback in a playlist.
Suggestion: create a new project, and just drag some of the included videos that come with DVD WS2.x to your timeline. Create your buttons/playlists, and burn to DVD Folders on your hard drive. Then use a software dvd player to playback the results to see what happens (I use PowerDVD)...
