Missing library, software closes when attempting to burn

Post by EditMoose »

Nature of the problem:
My entire library is missing. There is not even a drop down menu for choosing type of library. The folder icon is there for bringing files into the library, but when clicked it does nothing.

Also, when I go to the "Finish" tab and click on the burn icon, the whole program shuts down without an error mesage.

These symptoms are true for all projects (existing and new).

The only change since the last sucessful use of the software (a successful burn of this same project) is that I updated one mpg file (I copied an MPG from a CD and pasted it onto my hard drive, overwriting the old file that was used in the project).

I am betting that this somehow corrupted the software. My solution is to uninstall the software and re-install, unless any one has experienced this and knows a fix.

Thanks.

My solution is to uninstall the software and re-install...
Sorry. I don't have a better solution.
...is that I updated one mpg file (I copied an MPG from a CD and pasted it onto my hard drive, overwriting the old file that was used in the project).
I had problems when I tried that too.... But, in my case the failure wasn't as severe... it only screwed-up the particular project I was working on. (Other's have had this trouble too. It seems to remember the characteristics of the file and get confused if something changes.)

So, I have learned not to do that! Now, I delete the "bad" file from the project & library, re-name the file and and re-import it with the new name. That means that I have to re-set the chapter points and re-link the buttons if I've already done that stuff. ...The only thing I don't have to do over is re-layout the menus.
