Change DVD Frame size

Post by lkoester »

Using VideoStudio 10, when I go under "Change MPEG Settings..." from the Project Settings screen, I am locked into using the Standard Frame Size. The User-defined radio button is greyed out. The maximum resolution is 720x480 which I need to increase. Any ideas?

For a "regular" DVD, that's the normal resolution, and that's as high as you can go. (Unless you live in a PAL county where it's 720x526.)

And, widescreen DVDs are the same... the pixels are not square!

Yeah, I know, but the video quality is a little blurry. I have text titles that are too fuzzy. I was hoping I cound encode it at a higher resolution and while the dvd player would still downsample it to its native resolution, it would appear sharper.

No, this won't work. As DVDDoug said, that's as high a resolution as you can go for a DVD. Your video should not be "blurry" or "fuzzy". You should check all your steps and settings carefully to find out where the problem is.

Are your titles fuzzy in the preview screen or on the finished DVD? Do not expect good results from the preview screen. If the finished product is fuzzy then there are problems elsewhere. Please post your procedure, from capture to burn.
