Hi,
I have DMF5 plus and now I have Video Studio 10 plus, but I can't find a way with either of creating a menu structure on DVD that I want.
I want to start the dvd with a menu with 2 options on it (it would be nice to have a motion menu here but not essential). Clicking 1 option would then lead to a sub-menu with a number of options for playing various video clips.
The tricky part seems to having a top menu that when you click goes to another menu, that isn't a chapter menu from the top menu clip.
In the real world, myself and my fiancee race a car, we shoot footage from the car of both our qualify and race, so on a race day I have 4 clips. I would like to create a top level menu that has 2 items, one for me, one for her, then for each a sub menu having the qualify as one clip and the race as the other.
Is this possible - ideally with the tools I have....
thanks
Menu structuring

thanks for taking the time to write a long reply. However, there is an issue here, because i insert chapter breaks on the qualify and race video every time i cross the start line, so if i allow dmf to create a chapter menu i get 20 or more items, so if i did what you described the break between race and quali would be hard to find.
i also simplified the example because sometimes i add footage taken by a spectator (Jackies dad) and some stills in a slideshow, it would be good if i could have a top level menu item of Bonus material or similar.
Music wise i tend to use the ITV f1 intro music on the menu but a sound extract is an excellent idea i hadn't thought of.
I've downloaded a trial of Adobe encore 2.0 - i expect it will do what i want but its pricey at £250ish compared to ulead products.
