vs10 does not regonise burner
I am now using vs10 after using vs9. When I go to create disc and burn dvd it is saying no device in the disc burner drive.this worked fine with vs9.I have uninstalled vs9 to save room on hard drive. Do I still need this installed ?? Am I missing a file or is something not set up right to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

Hi
Glad to hear you solved the problem, you are recommended by ulead to do a repair under these circumstances
One thing I noted that you uninstalled to save disc space.
Video editing requires a lot of disc space, video files are quite large.
Removing VS 9 may help but you may find it not enough.

Good luck

Actually the situation appears to have changed with VS10, and supplements the advice which you have correctly given about using the disc if people have the boxed edition.
I have the download version. Yet I can go to XP's Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, and when I choose VS10 and click on the Change/Remove button, the Ulead screen comes up and presents me with the choice to either Repair or Remove. What is more, I have even used this twice, and simply pointed the Repair option to where I have the installation files stored on one of my HDDs. (Don't worry, I also have it backed up to CD!). And it worked.

Ok thanks guys, and this is what I did when VS10+ didn’t recognize my laptop DVD drive - I just plugged in an external USB DVD drive and a new VS10+ window popped up with the option to choose either the laptop DVD drive or the external DVD drive and I was back in business again so I didn't need to do the repair.
