Invisible Buttons over Text - Supported?

Post by wishfulthinker »

Hey guys, I'm using one of the default text templates. I want to make it so that when you highlight the individual listings in the main menu that the arrow doesn't appear by the text to indicate which one you are on. Instead, I'd like it to just highlight the text to indicate this as I feel the arrow makes it look less professional and a bit tacky. Also, could I do the same in chapter menus and substitute the orange circle with a highlight as well? If so, how do I do this?

So in a short more clarified manner, are invisible buttons supported in MF and if so how can I use that feature. Thanks
.

I'm not sure about MF. I haven't been using Movie Factory lately... Hopefully somebody else can give yoou a direct answer.

If the answer comes back "no", you can do this stuff with DVD Workshop. I've never actually made an invisible button, but I've made text buttons. (I think it's easy to make invisable buttons. I've seen it in the manual, and I know you can adjust the transparancy of the buttons... I have done that.)

I'm not sure about the "orange circle" either. But, you can make a button out of almost any image.

DVD Workshop is more expensive than Movie Factory, and it hasn't been updated for awhile... We think it's "going away".

It's likely he could create a menu like this in PhotoImpact 11's DVD menu creator. A menu is just a layered *.ufo file with specific names for each layer by function. If a layer is nothing but a blank transparent 'image' then it'll still work but be invisible unless highlighted.

To get a feel for what can be done check out this DVD Workshop learning center page. There are several tutorials here for using PI to create menu objects;
