Change Transition & Audio Fade Durations in Current Proj

Post by blplhp »

I am currently working on a project file in VS10+ that has 30 clips and 29 transitions in it. Is there a way to change all transition durations and all audio fade-in/fade-out durations in one or two easy steps, without having to go to each transition and clip and change them manually? I had my default transition and audio fade durations in Preferences|Edit set for 3 sec./3 sec. respectively when I created the file, but now I want to set them for 2 sec./4 sec.

Thanks,

Hi

Default transitions can be changed by saving the clips to the library. Then dragging back to the timeline.

Using the mouse ‘Shift + Click’ all the clips.
Use Ctrl+C to copy
Paste the clips to the library. Ctrl+V
Delete the clips from the timeline
Change the default duration in preferences
Drag the clips back to the timeline.

Be aware that changing the transition duration will change the video timeline duration with respect to the other timelines.

The audio fade unfortunately has to be done manually.
