Dvcam and Betacam, what are they?

Hi, I want to know that what "Dvcam" or "Betacam" is. some of the video camcorders have a dvcam function. Is it a video format like DV or the same of DV? what is the difference? Is Dvcam function really important to have to make a film or something else? also same questions for "betacam"... Thank you for all...
