Nice way to encourage people to help you

Yes, DVDMF needs a patch, but for enforced 4 g captures etc. For the kind of instability you're experiencing something else seems to be the problem, most likely a consistant system configuration issue.
Please read that tutorial on setting up an editing profile I mentioned in your other thread and report back how it works.

No I'm not, and I don't think Terry will be.progrocktv wrote:Are you going to be updating the software to fix these issues?
No sir.progrocktv wrote:Hello? Were you planning to fix this thing?
We are users of Ulead programs, differing from you only in the aspect of experience and knowledge gained through time.Terry Stetler wrote:Please note the name of this forum: User to User.

Or a bigger problem is a software company that won't update a software when it needs to be fixed, ignore tech support calls or fully test it before releasing it.heinz-oz wrote:For many people, while MF can be picky with system spec's, the biggest problem is not within the system, it sits in front of it.

1. Not 'fully testing'? FYI betatesting usually consists of testing on a set of varied systems in the company and perhaps a dozen or so advanced users with several systems to test the softrware on. In no way is it possible for these to reflect all, or even a majority, of all the varied systems out there. This is the case for not only Ulead but Adobe and many others.
To test to the level of perfection you apparently expect is impossible with such complex products as the testing would overlap with OS patches etc. in a never ending spiral of incompleteness.
Very, VERY often some third party utility, game, plugin or whatever will change the system in some unpredictable way that causes otherwise well behaved software to go phooey.
Ex: a while back I had a problem with MSPro7's MPEG not working. When all was said and done it wasn't Uleads fault at all; it was Adobes. Their Premiere editor, which I also had installed as part of my RT.X100 boards software package, used the same MPEG plugin as Ulead uses and it had messed up the settings.
Yes, Uleads software failed but it wasn't Uleads fault. Same thing can happen with all manner of third party plugins, games etc. etc. Even some Windows patches will change the settings detrimentally. No way for Ulead to predict that
2. Patch timing. DVDMF5 was released in March. This is August, 5 months later. In my long beta experience (10 years worth) with numerous companies the first service pack takes at least 2-3 months to accumulate enough data to actually create a 'to do' list then another few months to code and test the patch with the betatesters. 6 months is typical. DVDMF5 ain't there yet.

I know that can be a problem. Since you are the only one with the right system and using it right, the uncounted sucessful users must be using it wrongly. It's about time that Ulead fixes that. We all should have the same problem that you have, then they could fix it easily.progrocktv wrote:Or a bigger problem is a software company that won't update a software when it needs to be fixed, ignore tech support calls or fully test it before releasing it.heinz-oz wrote:For many people, while MF can be picky with system spec's, the biggest problem is not within the system, it sits in front of it.

Okay is there anyone out there who can make ALL of the menu transitions work properly? Or save thier project and have it open up EXACTLY as they saved it?heinz-oz wrote:I know that can be a problem. Please do come forward I'd like to see how you got it working.

Maddrummer,maddrummer3301 wrote:First I registered my ulead product on the ulead website, you need to create a ulead account to do this if you don't have any previous registered products etc.
After having the problem then I then logged into my ulead account.
Then submitted a request from within the login account.
Then tech support sent a file to replace.
That file will also be included in the update pack for MF5 I guess.
Hope this helps,
.
Thanks for the info, that's actually what I did myself but contacted tech support several times (about 4) and still haven't gotten ANY response from them (including requesting that specific dll file) is there a way to get it without going through Tech Support?
