Someone please help me - I have become extremely frustrated with v10 - I have spent countless hours reading practically every post on this site along with all the tutorials and user manuals, in fear of upsetting one of the moderators, but I cannot come right.
I use a Sony Dig cam to capture, in AVI, DV or mpeg, using all the settings as recommended in the v10 procedure posting. Project settings: Pal country, 4.3, AVI/DV, 720x576 etc etc - Everything works fine until I share\playback - the video is surrounded by large black frame entirely - the picture fitting in the middle. I have burned a test DVD (DVD, mpeg) and the playback on the TV does the same thing - a small picture surrounded by 2 inches of black top, bottom and sides. I have tried every setting possible - What am I doing wrong? How do I get the playback to fit fully into the TV screen?
The same thing happens when I capture from analog VHS through a DV90 USB capture device in mpeg format. Both the VHS and the Digicam play back on the TV in full screen no problem.
My system is a dualP4, 1GIG Ram, 256Mb Geforce Graphics adapter, running XP PROsp2, Screen res 1024X768
If anyone can help me I'd much appreciate it, before I throw everything into the swimming pool!!

OK -- It sounds to me that you are capturing full frame, but somewhere in the conversion process, you are producing half frame size video files...
Now, apart from a couple of 'etc etc', you have mostly given us the capture/project settings. But can we assume you have followed the recommended procedures and, after editing your captured video, you have gone to Share > Create Video File > PAL DVD? If so, what are the exact properties of the DVD-compliant mpeg-2 files you thus produce? Right click on the file within Video Studio and copy down all the properties here, please, and no 'etc etc'...
Failing that, can you tell us exactly what format you choose when you get to the Share > Create Video File > DVD stage and a drop down menu appears with lots of choices...
Then when (if?) you have gone through this Share stage, and produced your new mpeg-2, you close your project, and go to Share > Create Disc > DVD, and the burning page opens. You insert your new mpeg-2 files (or do you do something else)? But the important thing here is to click on the middle of the three icons in the bottom left of the burning page. And copy down the mpeg settings that appear in the top pane of the dialogue box which appears. That will tell us exactly which properties are being used to burn your DVD.
