I noticed after capturing a video from a dv camcorder that the duration changed when adding the video to the timeline. I have captured 2 tapes to avi dv2. 1 tape is 60 minutes and the other tape is 35 minutes. So total 1 hour and 35 minutes.
After adding to the timeline (and scene detection) the project sais the video total is 2 hours and 5 minutes. Is this possible?
I must say that i captured with another program because videostudio is stuck when capturing with videostudio 10 plus.
Maybe someone can help me with this second problem either. Every time i capture with videostudio 10 (different video's from a camcorder dv) videostudio hangs at 16 minutes. Yes every time at 16 minutes. I removed everything from memory but still hangs. With another program it is no problem.
2 problems someone can help?

Here is some more information i forgot to tell:
Video studio is not responding anymore when he hangs while capturing. Not even trough ctrl-alt-del. I must restart the winxp pro machine to get it working again.
I capture to dv1 avi lower field first. the source is a dv camcorder panasonic gvs 120.

duration video is not a problem
I am a fool! What happend:
After scene detection from the captured video i selected all the thumbs in de manager and added those to the timeline. But what videostudio does: he divides the scenes and also lets the original exists so that also is been added to the timeline: the original and the scenes from the original twice thus!
I am sorry.
The problem for capturing still exist though..

Can we clarify something, please? First, when you try capturing with Video Studio, you use DV Type 1 as the encoder? But when you use the other program (and it works) you use DV Type 2? Which is this other program you use?
Have you tried using Type 2 in Video Studio? (This sounds a little strange to me as we normally advise people who are having trouble capturing DV to make sure they use Type 1 rather than Type 2. But hey -- if another program can capture successfully in Type 2, your computer is obviously powerful enough to do so, and it is at least worth trying.)
You also need to be aware that a lot of us here use another program to capture DV. I use WinDV for example, because it is so easy to use and never produces dropped frames. There is nothing wrong with using a variety of video programs in any project.
Another work-around, of course, is the obvious one -- only capture lengths of video which are shorter than 16 minutes!

Thanks Ken.
I know that using other programs is not wrong. But i am always curious wat the problem can be since pinnacle studio 9.35 is capturing without problems in dv2 (i cannot change that).
The pc is a p4 3 ghz with 1024 mb memory and a asus v9520 videocard so this is powerful enough.
If the problem cannot be solved i am goiing to use pinnacle in the future for capturing but this is nog my idea.
