I upgraded to Ulead DVD Movie Factory 5 PLUS today because it now "officially" supports blu-ray. The 2 options for creating discs use the "BDAV" format. I am using the new Sony BWU-100A Blu-Ray Burner and doing test burns to a BD-RE disc.
The BDAV format is for burning home videos to Blu-Ray discs -- and the folder structure for these discs is different than the older version of DVDMF5 I used. BDAV uses a BDAV folder where the older version created a BDMV (Movie Disc) folder.
These new BDAV burned discs WILL NOT PLAY in my Samsung BD-P1000 player. I don't know if this player "officially" supports the BDAV format, and if it doesn't, I sure hope Samsung will fix this in the first firmware update that is supposed to come in September. These BDAV discs will play on my PC perfectly fine using the included WinDVD player... but I purchased this upgrade to burn discs that are playable in my Samsung BD Player!
Can someone from ULEAD shed some light on this?????
Regards,
Aaron

Samsung BD player is known to have a playing issue in the firmware with standard BDAV disk according to my source. I think Samsung might release the fix for the deck soon.
Hope this helps.
