VS9 Audio Error

Post by CalifDude »

In the process of rendering I am getting an error about 15% into the process. The error reads, "cannot read audio" and a memory address is displayed. This doesn't happen when I use the trial version VS10, but I don't want to use that version as the album transitions are not available.

Any advise?

If you are using mp3 as part of your audio, then you need to be aware that VS in various of its versions has trouble with certain kinds of mp3, and particularly that produced by the Lame mp3 codec (which I understand Nero uses, amongst others). Our usual advice in such cases is to convert the mp3 to .wav format instead.

Audio problems

Post by CalifDude »

I'll remove the mp3 music file as a test. I have video mixed in with my digital pics, and there is audio in the video as well. I haven't used VS9 much since last years summer vacation, but I don't recall having these kind of problems last year.

Any advise on how to convert mp3's to another format?

If you have the Nero suite, it has an element called Wave Editor. Open your mp3 file in that, then Save As and make sure .wav is selected as the format.

Or there is a free audio editor here which people speak well of: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
