Straight Capture to Disc

Post by stelch »

Hi
When I connect my VCR to capture direct to DVD-R disk when I press the capture button I get this message:
" Cannot start the capture graph. Capture failed. The created file is corrupt and unusable. It will be automatically deleted".
Any ideas why is this happening? What should I check?

Thanks
Stelios

Sorry I didn't mentioned that I am using MovieFactory 5. The VCR is connected via the analogue input of my camcorder and the DV output (of the camcorder) is connected the the Firewire card of my PC.

Hi
Thanks for your reply.
Yes I am using the pass through feature from my camcorder. When I want to write (the converted analog signal) on to the hard drive of my PC then it works OK. Its only when I want to record straight to the DVD disk that I have the problem.

I have also tried from the DV tape direct to the disk (as you have suggested) but I still get the same message as before " Cannot start capture graph..........etc"
What else can I try?

Thanks
Stelios

Hi

SOLUTION after all. All I had to do was to reinstall the program (MF5) and everything is working now. Thanks for your support.
