And Antz, is that a system already put together for that price by some company, or just a list of parts which total that price? I am interested because I would agree with Heinz that it looks like a good system and a very good price (at least here in Australia...)
And if it is a company, what is its address??!!

The price also includes labour (putting it all together)

Sorry but this pricing is way out of my league at the moment... i feel that its pretty expensive $3040 compared to $1399.maddrummer3301 wrote:I have two computers which i'm getting rid off so i can build one specially designed for Video editing,,,,I'm new to video editing and the only thing i use is Ulead VS maybe as i get better at it i would prob end up with a different more professional program... but for now i thought i'd buy something that was affordable and fast. When you say that it is a simple standard pc what would be the difference between one that is mainly used for video editing? That system is a simple "Standard" PC.
I see nothing "specially designed for Video editing" except for the processor & MB Chipset (945)
It will work great for programs like VideoStudio. I would add a harddisk.
This is an affordable video editing system.

By the time i get one to Aus it would probably cost me more! lolheinz-oz wrote:Little high in Australia?TDK1044 wrote:I... For that system, $1300 is a little high, but it will certainly handle video editing.
You might find that the quoted price is Australian dollars, around 25% less in US$. Not a bad price.

I will definately increase the RAM and it is a PCIe but have no idea what you mean when you say 'video editing profile on new system' pls let me know what you mean.TDK1044 wrote:Increase your RAM to 2 GB or more, make sure your video card is PCIe and create a video editing profile on your new system. Avoid the Pentium D
Avoid the Pentium D. At this point it is way old school.
Intel Core 2 Duo [note Core 2, not Core] or
AMD X2 is the way to go.
