How do I do this - type of starting video file

Post by antzpompeii »

Hi Everyone,

Its been a while since my last post - but i'm at it again with Ulead...

Anyways, hoping here someone can give me an indication of how to do this.....

At the begining of my VS Project i would like to insert several small animated movie clips;;; so basically more than one on black background.... i know that this must be some type of masking that i can do but i'm unsure if VS is the way to go. Just to give you an idea - i'd like to create something like the 'Brady Bunch movie start'.... you know where you have all the six children & the mum and dad on small square boxes?

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Antz

Hi

What version of VS are you using. The latest versions use Mask and Chroma Key effect.
This allows you to remove backgrounds colours.
Replace the backgrounds with another.

The clips have to be in the overlay tracks.

Press F1 and read about Mask & Chroma Key

VS 8 masking?

I'm using VS 8 it came with my Firewire Card

Yes but the prob is that they have to be next to each other so when one finishes the other starts - i would like all starting at once if you know what i mean.
Press F1 and read about Mask & Chroma Key
doesn't have it.... i think i need an updated VS.

Thanks Trevor for your response.

Hi Antz

You have to place the first image in the overlay track, render to a new file.
Use the new file in the main track, place second image in overlay track, render again

Repeat for more images

Upgrade to VS 10.

This version uses four overlay tracks, I think its four.
