I have had nothing but trouble with this program..
1. I spent a lot of money on some blank DVD's, However that program will not burn on to thees Discs, It keeps giving me a error message. the Discs are; DVD-R, 16x, 120min. 4.7GB, Why wont thees burn.
2. The Audio is still going off from the video about 5 secs behind, How do you make it so the audio stays put with the movie? I have never had this audio problme with the first 20 or so dvd's I have made, but now I have nothing but audio delays.

We'd be glad to, but you've provided zero information about your system:
processor, its speed, amount of ram, burner brand & model, brand of the DVD blanks, hard drives & capacity, filesystem used on the HDD's, operating system & version, DirectX and MediaPlayer versions, display device & driver version, VS version and if you've applied any patches to it, DV or analog capture and if analog what video/audio codec(s), audio card, DVD player brand/model etc. etc. etc.
This is not nit-picking. Any of these can have an impact on editing software of any kind.
One biggie is if you've installed VS to an OS installation that has games or other 'junkware' that could have messed with the systems settings. Not good.

I doubt it's the DVD's. I'm new at camcording and editing but VS10+ works perfect for me, if you're not doing something wrong maybe it's your system?eggs44 wrote:1. Hi Eggs
I read one of your posts, wrote the reply below only to realise your post was several months old, and three pages long.
Thinking I had wasted my time I was ready to delete the notes. I took the time to read the forum further to find several posts from you.
You are still having many problems.
Members of the forum are to be trying to help, but with little or no positive feedback from yourself.
Anyhow I decided to post my notes even though they are out of date they may still be relevant.
If you have solved the long render times please disregard.
These are a reply to your comment (The part where it said, "converting videos" takes 7-9 hours, When it said "Burning on DVD" That only takes 5 min to do.)

The speed at which a video file is created from the project is dependant on two main things.
1 / the efficiency of your pc, how fast is your processor.
2 / the format that you are creating, that is are the source properties the same as the new rendered file.
If the properties are the same than the render should be relatively quick.
If they are different then ‘how longs a bit of string’
My processor is AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+ 1.8 GHz
This takes 2.5 times max to convert Dv-Avi to Mpeg 2.
My last processor some years ago was much slower, cannot remember exactly, but may be just under 1000
This took about 6 / 7 times.
Fill in your pc details within your profile.
What are the capture properties and render properties of your video files.
Hope this Helps

1. With any software/hardware combination where burning to DVD is involved, you should always test the water with a couple of blank DVDs from different manufacturers before committing to buy a large number of a particular brand. Verbatim Disks have a good reputation for working well with many different brands of Burner.
2. The probable reason for your loss of audio sync is that you had 'Smart Render' enabled during your render. Render your project again and uncheck the 'Smart Render' box.
