VS won't launch on my monitor res!

Post by mikeaitch »

Hi, first post here, so sorry if I'm being thick!

My monitor, actually a projector, has a res of 1280 x 720.

VS10 wont launch, saying that I need a res of 1024 x 768 min. Trouble is, reducing the res means the top and bottom is missing from the screen, and also gives distortion and stuttering on playback.

I got this to go with my new HD Sony HC3- Surely there's a setting for VS10 in the now standard 1280 x 720 HD resolution?

VS10 is still on trial, I like the program but messing about with my pc's res every time I use it doesn't seem right- my other Ulead products don't have this problem?

Your computer resolution has to be 1024x768 for VS10 to run. Right click on your desktop and select properties, under Display Properties select settings and set your screen resolution to at least 1024x768.

Your computer settings has nothing to do with your capture resolution of the HC3.

Thanks for the reply

Setting that resolution every time I use one program is a bit much though, and as the projector has a 16:9 ratio I only have the option of displaying it natively with no scaling- leading to the top and bottom being clipped off as it has only 720 lines available , or scaled to fit the panel, in which case everything is distorted to fit the 16:9 shape as 1024 x 768 is 4:3 shape

I can't be the only one with a HTPC and projector- seems like a glaring omission to me.
