have a sony HC1 camcorder and full VS10 plus i just purchased.
I followed the suggestions given by JcHunter and had very nice redered outcome of my trip this summer in HD (MPEG2-HD) that plays very well with WVideo player10.
I then tried to make outcome of the edited file to WMV-HD same full size for burning and sharing :the WMV-HD option existe in SHARING but the only outcome is in WMV (non HD) highly compressed low quality small window;
IN DETAIL THATS WHAT I DID
1- I recharged the same project on the timeline
2- I clic SHARE then CREATE VIDEO FILE and select available WMV-HD PAL(1440 x 1080 25 fps).
3- The Create Video File window opens
-under type I read: wmv (this is the only non hd option here)
- The file name is still WMV-HD PAL(1440 x 1080 25 fps).
-In properties I read:
Windows Media Video
24 bits, 1440 x 1080, 16:9, 25 fps
Frame-based
44.100 KHz, 16 bits, Stereo
Ulead - WMV HD 1080 25p
5- I clic OPTION to set the WMV to HD format but the opened Properties window had only one folder the Ulead Videostudio folder (with no g&n&ral or Compression folder)
What is the step by step procedure in order to make WMV-HD file. maybe the codec to do this job is not there ?; or is there something else to to do like with the DivX codec explained by JcHanter or else.
NB I THNK VIDEOSTUDIO IS A IDEAL PRODUCT FOR ITS PRICE RANGE (FAST RESULT IN SMART RENDERING AND THE PROXY ABILITIES FOR SLOWER SYSTEMS)
Thanks for your help

Toni,
I had tried, in the past, to create HD video files in WMF format and found the process annoying to use, with innadequate controls and unsatisfactory results. The WMF codec is responsible for the detailed property screen layout - Microsoft may have an update. I will give it another shot today and report back later.
