Hi Johnny, and welcome to the wonderful world of video editing and the forums..
The first thing that comes to mind, is WinXP's good ol' DEP (Date Execution Prevention). This is about the most
Worthless piece of... well get my drift..

.. I've had more problems recently with it then I want..
So what you need to do is
Disable DEP for VS. To do so do the following:
1. Right-click on My Computer and Select Properties
2. In the System Properties dialogue that opens click on the Advance Tab.
3. Click on the Settings button for
Performance.
4. In the Performance Options, click on the 3rd tab, Data Execution Prevention.
5. Click the radio button for
Turn on DEP for all.....
6. Click on the
Add button, a window will open that you can navigate to where the executable file for VS is located. Generally this is found under C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Video Studio 10.0. However you may have it installed to some other location on your system.
7. Once you have found it, there should be a file similar to
vstudio10.exe. Click on it to add it to the execeptions list.
Now if DEP was preventing VS from launching that should take care of it.
